A new study says that hosting the Olympic Games does not prompt an increase in local house prices, nor do prices crash after the games are over. In Vancouver, where the Winter Olympic Games get underway this month, that may be a good thing. Another report says the city has the least affordable housing of 272 urban centres examined around the world, including San Francisco, New York, London and Sydney, Australia.

This 1907 gem has been lovingly restored by it 's architect owner to suit modern standards, while the rare old beautiful character has been carefully preserved. There are two neighboring private suites making it flexible to rent separately or combine if you need to accommodate larger groups, (up to 14). The suites are bright, spacious and friendly, grand but homely, with high ceilings, hardwood floors, and an authentic heritage style.

We are very fortunate to have all the best areas of Vancouver within walking distance, while still having quietness and privacy of being hidden away in the quiet, friendly historic neighborhood of Strathcona. World class sports facilities, entertainment, cafs, restaurants, music, are all a short walk away. The bike path on your doorstep leads you to Downtown Vancouver (2km away) through False Creek and the 2010 Olympic Venues(2km away), and around English Bay (3km), to the golden beaches and huge, forested Stanley Park (5 km), all surrounded by the magnificent Rocky Mountains.
